PUTTING ON THE RITZ

For this piece, the title really finishes the composition. "Putting on the Ritz" is a song that was first written in the 1920's, but most famously sung by Fred Astaire in 1946. When I finished this work, I thought of fashionable men in top-hats mingling with finely dressed women sipping champagne. It felt like the most suitable title for the bold and jazzy shapes! — Elyse Katz
