THE CLIENT EXPERIENCE · LAURA BROPHY INTERIORSThe Experience
A finished home is only half of what a studio owes its client. The other half is the manner in which it arrives. Ours unfolds in four movements.
Laura Brophy Interiors is a full-service interior design studio based in Newport Beach, California. Every commission follows the same four phases: an initial conversation, a fully resolved and priced design, realization through fabrication and construction, and a single, complete installation. One senior team leads the work from the first meeting to the final object.
How a Commission Unfolds
I. The Conversation
PHASE ONE · INITIAL CONSULTATION
One unhurried conversation. The property, the scope, the timeline — and, more carefully, the life: how you entertain, where the household actually gathers, what a good morning looks like. You leave with a clear sense of how we would approach the commission, and what the engagement involves.
II. The Design
PHASE TWO · DESIGN DEVELOPMENT & PRESENTATION
The studio returns with the design fully resolved: drawings where drawings are needed, materials you can hold, furnishings selected to the finish — each with its cost, and each with our recommendation. Never a stack of options and a deadline. This phase asks hours of you; it asks hundreds of us.
III. The Realization
PHASE THREE · PROCUREMENT, FABRICATION & CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT
Approved designs move into motion. Furnishings enter fabrication at our workrooms; orders, logistics, and receiving run quietly through the studio. Through construction we conduct scheduled jobsite walks, review the work against our drawings, and give design guidance at every milestone — in concert with your architect and builder, who direct the work itself. Questions reach you only when they deserve you, on a cadence you can plan around.
III. The Install
PHASE FOUR · INSTALLATION & STYLING
Installation arrives as a single gesture: furnishings placed, art hung, beds made, the first fire laid. You walk into a finished home.
The Standards of the House
One senior team, accountable for the design from first sketch to final object.
A single voice.
Decisions, fully resolved.
We join alongside your architect from the earliest drawings — collaborating on layouts, elevations, millwork, lighting, and finish schedules — so the interior is designed into the house rather than applied to it afterward.
Your time, guarded.

Discretion, practiced.

Very little, by design. The studio presents the design fully resolved: drawings, physical material samples, and furnishings selected to the finish, each with its cost and our recommendation. You make decisions rather than sort through options. The phase asks hours of you and hundreds of us.

Yes. Through construction the studio conducts scheduled jobsite walks, reviews the work against our drawings, and gives design guidance at every milestone. We work in concert with your architect and builder, who direct the construction itself.
-
The studio does. Once designs are approved, furnishings enter fabrication at our workrooms, and orders, logistics and receiving are handled by the studio. Questions reach you only when they need your decision, on a cadence you can plan around.

Yes. Assistants, business managers and owners' representatives are welcomed into the process wherever that serves the household. Meetings are few, scheduled around you, and always decision-ready.
