SPRING CLEANING.

I’m so excited to partner with Coastal Organizing Company to showcase how you can get organized without sacrificing style.

They helped simplify an overwhelming process by categorizing items, donating items we no longer need and creating a functional and beautiful system for our kitchen. Life can be messy, but an organized home brings balance and serenity to residents and guests alike.

How do you keep organized without sacrificing style?

“There are so many great organizational products out there. When we organize we always match the product to our clients’ style. We love this part of our job and getting creative by making sure what is on the inside of the cabinets matches the aesthetics on the outside. We believe when you are proud of your space and you like how it looks you will be inspired to maintain the systems we put in place.”

What are your favorite uses of baskets, trays, etc?

“Most of the products we use can be multi-functional. It really depends on your preference. You can use baskets in your pantry or you can store toys in them. The most important part is making sure the product that is used maximizes the space that it is in and it works well with the items being stored in them. The key to staying organized is having the right containment. So measure your space before shopping so you make sure what you buy actually fits.

One little tip that has been helpful for me is that I have a "Return Bin" in my garage. So anything that I purchased that needs to be returned goes in there temporarily. It is a good reminder to actually make the return instead of forgetting before it is too late. Then you just toss the bin in your car when you find the time to make the returns and it stays together.”

What are some of your favorite organization tips?

  1. “Getting organized starts in the store! Only buy items that you love and need. We really only use 20% of what we own so if you stop buying items you don't need this will help keep your home from being cluttered. The most important step in our process is helping our clients edit their space. Less is truly more and when you take control back over your home you will realize this to be true.”

  2. “Organization takes maintenance. You have to keep your home in order on a daily basis. Put things away where they belong instead of setting them down. Taking a little time to put things back will save you a lot of time and stress later on.”

  3. “Getting organized takes time. So if you want to tackle a space on your own make sure you start somewhere small so you don't get overwhelmed.”

How does an organized home contribute to wellness?

“Your external space definitely affects your eternal well-being. A disorganized space can cause stress and anxiety. Taking control over your external space will give you internal freedom. We have so many clients whose daily lives are transformed after their homes are organized and we create a structure for all of their items.”
